Quinn Packaging’s Innovative Recyclable Black Plastic Packaging up for Two Major Sustainability Awards
Quinn Packaging has been announced as a finalist for two major industry awards, thanks to its innovative new product, Detecta by Quinn.
The awards Quinn have been shortlisted for are the Best Recycled Plastic Product of the Year Award in the Plastic Industry Awards and the Driving the Circular Economy Award in the Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards.
Plastic recycling has become one of the most important considerations for retailers and consumers globally, which has been reflected in the strength and volume of entrants in this year’s Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards, with a record number of 193 submissions. Packaging Europe’s Tim Sykes explained,
“We’ve had engagement from six continents and across the whole of the packaging value chain, but more importantly, the quality of submissions feeds optimism that the industry is taking huge strides to meet the environmental challenges. The competition features both high-profile developments and innovations I hadn’t previously come across, and the competition is fiercer than ever before. Really strong entries achieving grades that could have won a trophy in the past have failed to make this year’s final.”
Detecta by Quinn are one of only five finalists in the Driving the Circular Economy category of the Sustainability Awards. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Nurnberg, Germany on September 25th.
Now in its 19th year, the Plastics Industry Awards is dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance, acknowledging the best companies and the best people in the market. Quinn Packaging have been named as one of the final three entrants in the Best Recycled Plastic Product of the Year Award category, with the winners to be announced at the annual awards event in London on September 14th.
