The company is accredited to an integrated environmental and health and safety management system under ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 respectively. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard that demonstrates best environmental management and ensures continual improvement on an ongoing basis. From using recycled material to educating our employees, Quinn Packaging are dedicated to protecting the world we live in at present and in the future.
To succeed in this we have undertaken the following policies and procedures:
- From the Strapping line to the Printing process, all Quinn Packaging products are manufactured to conform with Government Environment Standards and Regulations. With BRC Recognition, we have won the trust and loyalty of the leading supermarkets throughout the UK and Ireland.
- As a locally owned company we hold it close to our core objective to protect our environment and our neighbours. We encourage our employees, suppliers and sub-contractors to be eco-responsible in the workplace and their own homes.
- Training is continuously taking place to ensure that all staff members understand the importance of quality, hygiene and environmental management. In order to maintain and measure this training Quinn Packaging are regularly audited both internally and externally.
- The nature and design of the current plant ensure that there are minimal emissions to the environment and that Quinn Packaging is an environmentally sustainable manufacturing facility and conscious of the need to improve in its environmental performance continuously.
- We are continuously investing and implementing new technology advances to reduce the volume and effect of emissions in the surrounding area. For example :
- The amount of waste being produced on each of the lines is carefully monitored; eliminating and reducing waste arising where possible is the preferred waste management approach and then maximizing the use of reusable and recycled material.
- Any extensions or new buildings planned in the future will be designed to ensure high energy efficiency and will take into consideration all aspects to control the impact of operation on the environment so that the plant will maintain environmental sustainability into the future.
